KUMI - Women Leading change
KUMI is an initiative that calls on women to rise, take initiative, and create a strong female presence in social change leadership in the Western Negev region. The program will serve as a platform for local entrepreneurship among women from the area, provide practical tools, help build resilience, and lead processes with the goal of creating a network of influential women from the communities to build a broad regional infrastructure for a better future.

Why KUMI?
The Iron Sword War highlighted the gaps caused by the absence of women in top political-security positions, in decision-making, and in managing both the front lines and the home front. On the other hand, the war emphasized the contribution of women in managing the crisis behind the scenes by developing resilience, establishing command centers for immediate responses, and managing social services. All of this, alongside the stories of heroism from many women, both civilians and fighters, proved that women belong in all decision-making and influential positions.

"Our lives changed on October 7th, and we need to rebuild ourselves. Women are the heart and soul of the recovery and revival process. With KUMI, we are creating a space where we can lead and make an impact, as we have already proven we can, for the Western Negev community."
Chen Hadad Shuchami, Manager of the KUMI Project, Kibbutz Karmia
GOALS
Rebuilding negev communities through grassroots women’s leadership.
Strengthening women's presence in key positions in the public and business sectors.
Creating intra-community and regional networking and collaborations.
Entrepreneurship development and project management that will lead the region to revival.
